Who we are and what this covers
Go Sell Live is run by Tall Oaks Ventures, LLC. ("we", "us"). This policy covers gosell.live, our coming-soon website, signing up there for progress updates, and the Report abuse form at /abuse.
Go Sell Live isn't open yet. Before it opens to shops and buyers, we'll update this policy to cover it.
What we collect
We collect only what signing up for updates needs, what the abuse form needs when you use it, what our analytics records about visits, and what our hosting records.
- When you sign up: your email address, and, if you use Google, the name and profile picture on your Google account. We also keep when you signed up and last signed in.
- When you report abuse: your email, optional name, the shop address, the abuse category, your description, and any evidence links you include. We use these only to investigate the report. We don't share your email with the seller.
- When you visit: like any website, our hosting records technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, browser and the pages you asked for. We also use Google Analytics to measure page views and basic visit technical data (for example pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type, and referring site). Google Analytics may set or read cookies or similar identifiers on your device.
We don't ask for your address, phone number or payment details on this coming-soon site, and we don't sell your information or use it to show you advertising.
How we use it
We use your details to send you news about Go Sell Live, to let you sign in again, to investigate abuse reports, to understand how the site is used, and to keep the site working and safe.
- Updates: occasional emails about Go Sell Live's progress and its opening. Each one says how to stop them.
- Signing in: your email and sign-in keep you signed in and let you come back.
- Abuse reports: to investigate phishing, malware, fraud, counterfeit or illegal goods, copyright or trademark issues, and similar problems on gosell.shop shops, and to suspend a shop address when needed. We may share the reported shop address and evidence with the shop's seller or with authorities; we don't share your email with the seller.
- Analytics and running the site: visit and analytics records help us see what pages people use, find faults, and stop abuse.
We don't sell your information, rent it, or use it for advertising. For people in the EU or UK: we rely on your consent for updates, which you can withdraw at any time, and on our legitimate interest in running a safe website and understanding how it is used for the visit and analytics records.
Signing up with Google or an email link
You sign up either with your Google account or with a link we email you; we never see or keep a password.
- With Google: Google asks your permission to share your name, email address and profile picture with Go Sell Live, and shares nothing else. You can remove that permission in your Google account at any time (myaccount.google.com/permissions).
- With an email link: we send a one-time sign-in link to the address you enter, from noreply@accounts.gosell.live. Opening it proves the address is yours.
Both go through Google's Firebase Authentication, which we use to handle sign-in for us.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the companies that run the site for us, and when the law requires it.
- Google (Firebase): hosts gosell.live, handles sign-in and sends our sign-in emails. Google processes this information on our behalf under its Firebase data processing terms.
- Google Analytics: receives page-view and technical visit data so we can measure how the site is used. Google processes this under its analytics terms; we don't use it to sell your information or to show you ads on this site.
- Progress updates: we email updates ourselves using our Firebase sign-in and email tools; we don't use a separate marketing email provider for this coming-soon site.
- The law: if a court or authority lawfully requires it, or to protect people from harm or fraud.
- A new owner: if Go Sell Live is sold or merged, your information would go with it, under this policy's protections.
Where it's stored and how it's protected
Your information is kept by Google's Firebase (and Google Analytics for visit measurement), mostly in the United States, and is always sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
If you live outside the United States, your information is transferred there. For people in the EU or UK, Google covers these transfers with the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Only the people who run Go Sell Live can see the list of people who signed up and the abuse reports. No system is perfectly secure, but we'll tell you promptly if your information is ever exposed.
Cookies and storage on your device
We use the storage that signing in needs, and Google Analytics cookies or similar identifiers for measuring visits. We don't use advertising cookies.
When you sign in, Firebase keeps a sign-in record in your browser's storage so you stay signed in, and Google may set its own cookies during Google sign-in. Signing out removes our sign-in record. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser's settings, which signs you out and may reset analytics identifiers. Google's tools for ads and analytics preferences are at Google Analytics opt-out and Google Account privacy.
How long we keep it
We keep your sign-up until you ask us to delete it, or until we stop sending updates, whichever comes first.
- Your sign-up: deleted within 30 days of your asking, or of our deciding to stop sending updates.
- Abuse reports: kept as long as needed to investigate and for our records of shop safety actions, then deleted or minimized.
- Visit and analytics records: kept by our hosting and by Google Analytics for a limited time under our Google Analytics retention settings, then deleted or aggregated.
- When Go Sell Live opens: we'll tell you before your sign-up is used for anything beyond updates, and you can choose whether to keep it.
Your choices and rights
You can stop our emails, see what we hold about you, correct it or have it deleted, by writing to developer@talloaksventures.com.
- Stop updates: use the link in any update, or write to us, or uncheck the progress-updates box while signed in on gosell.live.
- See, correct or delete: we'll answer within 30 days, after checking the request comes from the address we hold.
- Remove Google's permission: at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- In the EU or UK: you can also object to or limit how we use your information, ask for a copy to take elsewhere, and complain to your data protection authority.
- In California: you can ask what we collect and have it deleted, and we won't treat you differently for asking. We don't sell or share personal information as California's law defines it.
Children
gosell.live isn't meant for children under 13, or under 16 in the EU or UK, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has signed up, write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes and contact
We'll post any change to this policy here with a new effective date, and email you first if it changes how we use your sign-up.
